Approach and Qualifications
Personal Approach:
I am a qualified and experienced Integrative psychotherapist and counsellor with an MSc Integrative Psychotherapy, from a leading reputable training provider called Metanoia Institute London visit Metanoia for information on their training courses and workshops. In addition I am a qualified supervisor and can offer supervision to trainees, and experienced therapists for their client work. I have been seeing clients since 2011 in the Milton Keynes, Woburn Sands and Bedford areas.
I am a registered member of UKCP - United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (membership number 2011163838) and I abide by their codes of ethics.
Working in an integrative way means I draw on a range of theories and models where the emphasis is on the quality of the relationship, with self and others, and that we all have unique family, cultural and life experiences.
According to research a key factor for a successful therapeutic outcome is not related to the approach, it is more about the nature and quality of the relationship that is developed between client and therapist. So the main focus will be about building a relationship with you, your relationship with self, and how we impact on each other.
Prior to qualifying as a psychotherapist, I have previously worked in the NHS, and the charitable sector in a managerial capacity. I have also worked for the Open University as a Lecturer on their psychology and counselling courses.
